He is a member of the KROMA ELECTRIC GUITAR QUARTET, whose first album “Kroma”, was released in 2001. The second was released at the beginning of 2012 and it has important special guests such as Heraldo do Monte, Vera Figueiredo and Roger Moreira. At the beginning of 2012, Orio joined a percussion group for a new project called “Alexandre de Orio & Bateria S/A”, a peculiar combo with only electric guitar and percussion. The intent of the project is to present great Rock and Metal classics using percussion, sometimes simulating drums grooves, sometimes playing the role of a de facto percussion instrument, suggesting new arrangements from other rhythms like samba, baião, and maracatu, among others. In addition to metal and rock classics, the group also develops original compositions, exploring a range of rhythms and creating interaction between its percussion instruments and the aggressive sound of the guitar.

Orio has been a musical educator since 1998. He currently teaches at Yamaha Music School and Usina Música.
